I have two and may get more. It does that simple task very well. If you're looking for long range, digital modes or solid built quality, this is not the radio for you. Its simple, easy to use and pretty much disposable. Take it boating, take it to the beach; if it gets wet or falls in the water, not that big a deal. I was hoping to upgrade the antenna, but 1) the current antenna is adequate, and 2) a good replacement costs more than the radio! One thing to know- it is NOT 5 watts, never has been.
