MOBB Bariatric Steel Wheelchair
The Bariatric Steel Wheelchair is ideal for bariatric users that have limited mobility. The wheelchair is designed with ergonomic handgrips for caretakers to propel the chair or steel rims over the rear wheels for self-propulsion. The dual-axle design also allows hemi-height convertibility. The wheelchair is assembled with powder-coated steel tubing for durable, lightweight construction. The push-to-lock wheel locks securely hold the wheelchair in a stationary position. Available with a 22” or 24” seat and supports users up to 500-pounds.
The Bariatric Steel Wheelchair is designed to allow users to self-propel themselves by hand or using their feet. The dual axles allow the chair to be lowered 2-to-3-inches to bring the user's feet to the floor to allow the user to utilize their feet to move the chair as desired. This is also known as a Hemi height conversion.
The detachable desk length armrests are padded to provide support and comfort to the arms while sitting. The armrests are desk length to allow users to move their chairs comfortably up to a desk and be able to reach the surface easier to complete tasks. The armrests can also be completely detached for occasions that the user would like to be moved closer to a stable surface such as at a dining table. This allows the user to be able to eat over the table and to eliminate the gap between themselves and the table.
The push-to-lock wheel locks are easily accessible by the person in the wheelchair as well as a caregiver that may be pushing the chair. The wheel lock securely prevents the rear wheels from turning while engaged. Engaging the brake prevents unwanted rolling or shifting of the chair while the user is sitting stationary or entering and exiting the seat.
The seat and seat back are constructed of durable PVC upholstery that is easy-to-clean and provides comfortable support. On the seatback is a back pocket that stores loose items securely while traveling in the Bariatric Steel Wheelchair.
The dual crossbars beneath the seat are designed to hold extra weight and allow the Bariatric Steel Wheelchair to support users up to 500-pounds. The dual bars are positioned under where the majority of the user weight will be placed to prevent the chair from folding together and causing the seat to hammock under the user.
The Bariatric Steel Wheelchair features elevating leg rests to allow patients to extend their legs while the plastic foot-plates keep the patient’s feet in a natural position up off of the floor. The plastic foot-plates are easy to clean to keep dirt and debris away and to prevent the feet from slipping off the plates due to build-up.
