Details: The Gilson Mini-Splitter? for 1/4in (6.4mm) to powder sizes is the smallest Universal Splitter. The benchtop SP-3 features stainless steel hopper and frame with anodized aluminum chute bars and sample pans. The Mini-Splitter can be adjusted to form up to 48 chutes, and the 104in? (1.7L) hopper has a 3/8in (9.5mm) bottom opening with a spring-loaded gate release. Gilson?s Universal Splitter design features adjustable-width chutes and lever-release hoppers to assure accuracy when mixing and reducing bulk materials for representative test samples. Universal Splitters are versatile and cost-effective. A single model serves the purpose of two or more conventional sample splitters. Since material flow is controlled with a lever-release, only the two included sample collecting pans are necessary for proper use. Extra sample pans are available for faster, more efficient material processing. An optional Enclosure Accessory is available for dust control. Universal chutes are made up of precision-machined aluminum bars pivoting on a pivot rod. The bars are grouped together on alternate sides to form chutes of the desired width. Most specifications require at least eight openings per side with coarse sizes and twelve with finer sizes. Once set, bars are drawn together with wing nuts on threaded ends of the pivot rod.
